What about the people who got RFEs for 485?
Do you guys think the visa numbers are counted for those people or not:confused::mad::o:(

You say you start 25% of the companies. Though, I don�t believe this number but what about the remaining 75%? Also, what percentage of employment do such companies generate? Negligible! Every Joe Schmuck can start a company; it takes only few hundred dollars. And by the way, those were supposed to be my dollars.
Having said that, I would like to remind the readers I have great respect for those with leadership qualities. Now, my questions to all, what percentage of green card aspirants start such companies?

How many days we will have left in Sep month. Now its too late any action we will take may need 15 days or more .. by that time we will have oct month and new bulletin..
rather than there will be a some movement on HR 5882 bill next week.. lets focus on it so it will solve problem for all.
This is also for all and it is not about recapturing the visas alone. It is about justice to anybody whose PD is current. What kind of justice would it be if your PD is current after the visas have been recaptured and you are waiting for 10 years just because your case is not being picked up in the random lottery ?

This is very useful information. Pappu is unarguably right that it doesn't make sense to wait for a year even after paying $5K. The whole system is absurd.
I am writing mail to Ombudsman regarding delay in replying FOIA.
Guys, as IV is also putting all options and working on this, lets not loose our momentum and keep contributing towards this. Pappu's message clearly indicates that if needed, this fund will be used for this purpose specifically and also as he mentioned, we need more fund to get data earlier.

Great Idea. We can have a poll on this just to see how many support this.
ya, lets step-up a poll and have everyone vote, as if this is the US congress. And after voting leave it for someone else to work on this and other "brilliant" idea. There needs to be a reality check. This poll doesn't mean anything unless there are enough people to spend time and energy at every level. But ya, lets setup a poll and have everyone vote, it will give everyone a feel good factor that everyone contributed in the advocacy effort, how? by voting in the pool and not doing anything about how everyone votes.

Actually we were called for interview at the local uscis, : My RD was Aug-17-2007 and the ND is Oct-15-2007. The DAO - District Adjudication Offcier gave me a heart attack saying that we are not eligible for GC as the cut-off date was 17-Aug and we were out of the window. Then I politely explained her, and then she looked at the RD and said that we would be fine. Also I called USCIS last week, and told that I filed on Aug, one rep said that they go by ND, I called again and the other rep said that "by ND". Not sure, may be uscis itself is not sure.
Anyhow, is it advisable to take an infopass now (i.e) before september . Wouldn't it be better to visit uscis office in september, so that we could strongly say that "We are current, and could something be done about our case".
I'm afraid that, if we go to uscis now saying that "We will be current in Sep", the uscis people might ask us come back again in Sep. And remember, we cannot have two consecutive infopass within 45 day. So what do you suggest?

Here is my situation:
My daughter doesn't have last name in her passport. As I understand last name can be added to her passport at Indian consultate. Now how can we change her name in all USCIS documents - 485, AP,H4 visa. Do we need to have US court order for changing name with USCIS as mentioned by someone ?
Please share your experiences if someone have changed name with USCIS and how would that process work ? Does it need to be done by attorney or can we do it ourselves ?

My minor daughter had same issue--NO last name in her passport. Her visa had first name as her last name too. But her H4 and all other documents from uscis somehow had her first as well as last name. During her FP, the guy at ASC discovered NO last name in passport and made a note in their data base and verbally advised us to get it fixed.
We went to indian consulate with notarised affidavit/declaration and carried our passports alongwith her passport and they endorsed it the same day for a little fee (I guess it was$15.00) without any hassel.

I agree. Some idiots are just being irritating pain in the b***.
Someone gave me a "red" with totally unjustified reason. Initially I was upset - and I complained about it - found that he gave me more reds with similar comment from multiple userids (because one userid can't give multiple green/red to the same post). And this guy is doing at weird times ..like 5 in the morning (so psyco is the right description ... now I am sure he is going to given couple of reds to me :D )
After rethinking - now I don't care much about reds - someone is just pissed off, jealous or having fun ... red might make us (and our posts) look less reliable ... however I decided to keep my blood-pressure low and psyco's high :D ..so go ahead psyco - add more reds !!
